EPR INDEX

Expression Profile Reliability (EPR) index quantifies the similarity of the distribution of expression distance between the interacting proteins to that of the DIP CORE set as defined in:
  • Deane CM, Salwinski L, Xenarios I, Eisenberg D. (2002) Protein interactions: Two methods for assessment of the reliability of high-throughput observations. Mol Cell Prot 1:349-356 (2002)
The similarity is assessed by the least squares fitting of the expression distance distribution of the tested set to a linear combination of the distributions for the reference sets of intercting and noninteracting protein pairs extracted from the DIP database. See Deane, Salwinski at al. for details.

The tested dataset (at least a few hundred to generate meaningful results) should be provided as a list of pairs of either DIP (ie DIP:310N), YPD or standarized ORF (ie YAL021C) identifiers. For example:

YAL021C YGR092W
YAL029C YBR130C
YAL047C YHR172W
YAL047C YNL126W
